Carey Gillam has just won the Rachel Carson Book Award from the Society of Environmental Journalists for her book, Whitewash, which follows the first historic verdict against Monsanto in the San Francisco courts. This decision opens the door to more than 5,000 similar civilian litigation suits regarding cancer caused by Monsanto’s pesticides. Sheldon Krimsky, Professor of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning at Tufts University, joins the discussion.
